Penile enlargement is one of the most popular male operations, which can be performed both for cosmetic purposes and for medical reasons.
In the latter case, we are talking about the following violations:
- cavernous fibrosis, in which the tissues of the penis are partially replaced by cartilage;
- underdevelopment of the penis;
- erectile dysfunction, the causes of which are dysfunction of the vessels of the penis or Peyronie's disease;
- endocrine impotence, which developed against the background of diabetes mellitus;
- a history of unsuccessful operations on the penis;
- the need to eliminate the consequences of operations on the prostate, bladder, rectum.
Penis enlargement has a number of contraindications:
- severe diabetes mellitus;
- oncology;
- venereal diseases;
- exacerbation of chronic diseases of the genitourinary system (prostatitis, urethritis, cystitis);
- genital herpes;
- the presence of ulcers and wounds on the penis.
- violation of blood clotting;
- the patient has mental disorders.
Surgical lengthening of the penis
Surgical enlargement of the penis can be performed in several ways. So, an operation called "ligamentotomy" allows you to increase the hanging (free) section of the penis by reducing its perineal (hidden) section. In this case, the elements of the ligamentous apparatus are corrected, which holds the penis in the perineal area. In fact, in this case, the original size of the penis remains unchanged, since there is only a redistribution of length.
An alternative variant of penile lengthening is implantation into the internal space of an endoprosthesis organ, which is obviously long. Such endoprosthetics can be accompanied by total mobilization of the legs of the penis, but it should be borne in mind that this step leads to inevitable damage to the deep cavernous arteries and genital nerves. As a result, the development of erectile dysfunction is possible, therefore, such an operation to enlarge the penis is not recommended for absolutely healthy men without concomitant erectile dysfunction.
Thickening of the penis
Currently, the most popular technique for increasing the thickness of the penis islipofilling(transplantation of own adipose tissue). This penis enlargement surgery is performed under general anesthesia. At the first stage of the surgical intervention, fat cells are taken through special skin punctures in the donor areas (abdomen, thigh) using a syringe and a hollow needle (cannula).
Due to the rounded end of the cannula, large vessels and nerves are not damaged when the needle moves under the skin. Only fat cells are absorbed into the plastic syringe, as well as a small amount of blood that is formed when small vessels are damaged. Special processing of the obtained fatty suspension allows to obtain "clean" fatty tissue, which is then placed through micro-punctures in thin layers under the skin of the penis.
After the end of the operation, the punctures are sutured and sealed with a surgical tape. Lipofilling allows you to increase the diameter of the penis by 0. 5 - 1. 5 cm, and due to the force of gravity, the non-erect penis may increase by 1-2 cm in the future.
Another technique for thickening the penis involves transferring an area of the rectus abdominis muscle under the skin of the penis, in which axial blood flow is maintained. The flap obtained during the operation is, as it were, wrapped around the penis along its entire length. With this approach, the possibility of graft rejection is significantly reduced, because the muscles simply unfold on full-fledged feeding vessels. Such an increase in the penis in the clinic implies the patient's refusal from physical activity for six months (violation of this recommendation can lead to the development of postoperative hernia of the anterior abdominal wall).
Penis enlargement
This manipulation can be performed both in combination with penis enlargement and as a separate procedure. The most common reasons for an increase in the head of the penis in the clinic are:
- mismatch of the diameters of the trunk and the head of the penis;
- the impossibility of lengthening the penis using an extender due to the insufficient size of the head (it is impossible to fix the device correctly);
- the need to maintain the correct proportions of the enlarged penis.
One of the popular ways to enlarge the head is the introduction of a special matrix between it and the corpora cavernosa, which increases the diameter of the head both in an erect and at rest state. The main disadvantage of this technique is the high risk of necrosis of the tissues of the penis, because during the operation, the supplying blood vessels are inevitably cut.
A safer method is to inject a gel containing hyaluronic acid into the glans penis. This approach allows you to achieve the required volume in a non-erect state, which is an important point when lengthening the penis with an extender. Unfortunately, after 1-1. 5 years, the gel gradually dissolves, so this procedure needs to be repeated periodically.
Penile enlargement: pros and cons
The list of arguments "for" penis enlargement surgery includes:
- simplicity and safety of this surgical intervention;
- positive impact on the sexual and psychological health of men;
- improving the quality of intimate life;
- maintaining the increased length of the penis for life.
Penile enlargement surgery has its opponents,
which give the following arguments:
- the possibilities of surgical intervention are rather limited - the increase in the penis thus does not exceed 5 cm in length and 6 cm in width;
- traces of the operation may remain on the operated organ;
- the short duration of the results of the operation (with a thickening of the penis, the resulting volume remains, at best, for several years);
- possible complications (bleeding, infection in the wound, pain during erection, suppuration of the postoperative wound).
Operation results
Operational enlargement of the penis, reviews of which can be found on many Internet sites, allows you to add to its length from 1 to 3. 5 cm. Extension of the penis using a special stretcher (extender) allows you to add up to 2 cm to this indicator.
It is worth remembering that without an extender, the operation is ineffective and the length of the penis does not change. In the vast majority of cases, the lack of results after the intervention is explained by the fact that the stretcher was either not used or was used incorrectly.
The effectiveness of using the extender depends on the following conditions:
- the original length of the penis (the longer it is, the better results can be achieved). That is why the most impressive results can be obtained after ligamentotomy;
- the correctness of the anatomy of the penis (affects the ability to fix the extender);
- age (the elasticity and ability of tissues to stretch decreases as they grow older);
- the patient's persistence (the more often and longer the device is used, the better the effect can be achieved).
